Salty’s on Alki Beach in West Seattle is a popular restaurant for families, couples and tourists.
I had read about the brunch buffet at Salty’s for months leading up to our Seattle trip and quickly made a reservation soon after our flights were booked.
We pulled into Salty’s parking lot on a cloudy Saturday morning and were greeted by several metal sculptures and a grey seaside themed building.
We were promptly seated near the outdoor patio (which unfortunately was closed because of the rain and cold temps outside) and took a few moments to enjoy the view of Elliott Bay before heading to the buffet tables.
Salty’s Weekend Brunch Buffet
Salty’s offers a diverse range of foods and dishes – from traditional breakfast brunch items including custom made omelettes, a salad bar, made to order pasta station, meat-carving station including prime rib and ham, made to order crepe station, and a large dessert selection including an always running chocolate fountain.
I tried a little bit of the breakfast items and thought they were good. Nothing too memorable but not bad either.
The freshly made donuts and scones were my favorite breakfast items and other family members raved about the omelettes, cheesy hash browns and eggs benedict. Donuts and scones are also available in the little waiting area by the entrance/exit of Salty’s so if you want a snack for the road help yourself to a bag!
The antipasto table featured a variety of vegetables and cured meats. I tried a few of the items and they were quite tasty.
What I was particularly looking forward to was seafood and dessert so I spent the large majority of my time around these tables.
Dungeness crab, king crab legs, tiger prawns, oysters in the half shell shucked on demand, seafood chowder, clams and mussels from the Puget Sound, and a variety of fish dishes filled the seafood buffet area.
Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful – my favourite being the raw oysters.
After about 3 plates of breakfast and seafood items, I headed to the dessert table looking to satisfy my sweet tooth. Side note, there is no shortage of restaurants for sweet tooths in Seattle.
What to choose – pastries, cakes, chocolate fondue, key lime pie, crème brulee or more donuts and scones?
Unfortunately by the time I headed to the dessert table (it was more like waddling at that point!) I was quite full and opted for plain fruit and a small selection of desserts.
There was just so much food and not enough room in my belly to try it all.
Brunch at Salty’s on Alki Beach is one of my family’s most memorable dining experiences and I would highly recommend stopping in for the flavorful food, friendly service and of course the incredible views.

That looks so good! Weekend brunch is one of favourite things to do. We don’t go out for it very often, so when we do it’s a special treat.
Brunch is a treat for us too. We usually don’t do a lot of brunches out with the kids mainly because they start their day pretty early anyways so we can’t wait for brunch time with them 😉
Yum!! I love Salty’s for brunch!! So much good food all in one place! 🙂 I miss it! Ivar’s on Lake Union also has a nice brunch, not quite as nice, but still good.
O…M…G…That brunch looks to DIE for!!! I am SO hungry right now!!! Great pics too 😉
The food looks fantastic! I live in Victoria, so a trip down wouldn’t be out of the question!!
Thanks
Oh, this post made me homesick! A bummer you didn’t get to enjoy the patio, nothing beats the sunshine and cool breezes during Seattle’s summers!
That just means a return visit sometime soon to Salty’s. This time I’ll try to plan it during the summer so hopefully we’ll catch a day when the patio is open!
The food looks delicious!!
Oh .. looks so good! Ugh I need to start travelling and experiencing these simple pleasures in life.

This is my absolute favorite place for brunch-it is totally magical and your pictures just reminded me it’s been a while since we’ve been. So glad you went here. Yum!
Looks really good.
I thought our brunch prices were high here in Ontario but there’s takes the cake. Although if you could eat enough of the expensive foods it would be well worth it
