This week’s theme at Focused on the Magic’s Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop is December Calendar Shots.
Visiting the happiest place on earth during the holiday season is my favourite time to visit.
My first December visit was when I was pregnant in 2007. And this year’s visit is my husband and I’s second time and our kids’ first time seeing the parks and resorts all decked out.
There’s some incredible chocolate sculpture work at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! Here’s a close up pic of one of the horses from the life size (and working!) carousel found in the main lobby.
Our 5 year old was wondering when they were going to break it all down and eat it but sadly I had to inform her there wasn’t going to be a chocolate eating party. HA!
It’s difficult not to get into the holiday spirit upon entering the gates at Magic Kingdom.
There’s the smell of popcorn, cotton candy and gingerbread in the air and there’s some sort of green, red or white holiday décor hanging from or attached to a lamppost or building.
And maybe this isn’t a big deal to you, but it’s t shirt and shorts weather! In December! This is a big deal for a Canadian family like mine. Squeezing in a few more days of Vitamin D before we don our winter coats, scarves, boots, mitts…..
There are tons of decorated trees at that can be found scattered around the Disney resorts and parks. I’m pretty sure we have over 100 pictures of just trees on our cameras.
Here’s Chip and Dale’s tree at Animal Kingdom. You can find it along with a bunch of other trees at Camp Minnie Mickey.
A few more pics of chocolate, greenery and gingerbread spotted at Disney World.
A statue inside one of the Polynesian Resort’s gift shop decorated for the holidays, the lobby of Port Orleans Riverside also decorated, a giant Christmas tree made entirely out of gingerbread at Contemporary Resort, the newest family member comes to Disney World with us – her name is Twinkle, and of course some sweet snacks!
We really have to try to visit other times of the year but all this holiday magic is too hard to resist!
Beautiful pictures! This year we are making it a point to see the Carousel at the Beach Club. Love the picture of your Elf!
Great shots….LOVE the greenery over Main Street and Jingle the horse!
Beautiful shots!! My favorite time of year to visit as well! Wouldn’t that carousel make a fantastic chocolate eating party!
Great shots! I’d love to see Beach Club during the holidays…
Beautiful Holiday pics – I love the ones at the Polynesian
Such beautiful pics! I was pregnant on our holiday visit too. It was nice to just relax and take in the sights.
I haven’t been to WDW during the holidays yet but these pictures are so enticing. I love all their holiday decorations. Wow on those chocolate sculptures.
Such beautiful decorations. Just when I think we’ve “done” Disney and don’t need to return, this makes me want to go back during the holidays. Love the Elf shot! Would love for you to link up to our “Elf on the Road” post!

Wow, it’s so beautiful! I have always wanted to go to Disney during the holiday season. &That chocolate sculpture work is AMAZING!
I love the photos. Disney is a magical place for sure but when you add Christmas, it becomes even better.
I always equate Disney with summer (or at least really hot weather!). I never would have thought of going in December…it looks magical!
Oh it was hot enough for tshirts and shorts during part of our visit Lisa. 🙂 So it’s somewhat summer-ish (especially when you compare it to the weather we have right now! LOL)
