Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest resort on Walt Disney World property. Built in 2019, it is considered a Walt Disney World Villa property, and is simply stunning. Guests will find easy access to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT via the Disney Skyliner system, amazing food offerings, views of EPCOT, and relaxing pools and amenities. Today, I am going to share all the details about this Walt Disney World Resort and the reasons why you should make this your home away from home.
Where is Disney’s Riviera Resort Located?
Disney’s Riviera Resort is centrally located on Disney property. It is walking distance from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and it is connected to several resorts and two theme parks via the Skyliner. In my opinion, it is considered an “EPCOT” resort due to its location.
Who Would Enjoy Disney’s Riviera Resort?
The Riviera is perfect for larger families, due to the villa and studio options. Also, guests who want an upscale resort with subtle Disney touches would enjoy the Riviera. Guests who enjoy convenience to two parks would also appreciate the Riviera.
What Dining Options Can I Find at Disney’s Riviera Resort?
The Riviera is home to the very popular Topolino’s Terrace. This dining location features Mickey and friends at breakfast, in their French inspired artist costumes. The food here is delicious, whether for breakfast or dinner. At dinner, Topolino’s is not character dining, and is considered Signature Dining. It is a beautiful option for a special meal. You can check out Topolino’s Terrace’s menu here.
Primo Piatto offers guests a quicker dining option. Their sandwiches are fantastic. And, they conveniently serve all three meals of the day. Guests will also find amazing French coffee options, pastries, and other baked goods at Primo Piatto. Click here to see Primo Piatto’s menu.
Bar Riva and Le Petite Café both offer guests quick service dining options, drinks and finger foods. Bar Riva is located near the main pool. They serve drinks, cocktails, sandwiches, salads, and other bar favorites including kid-friendly meal options. View Bar Riva’s menu here. Le Petite Café offers Paris inspired pastries, cakes, and charcuterie plates alongside drinks. Click here to see Le Petite Café’s offerings.
Rooms at the Riviera Resort
Since it is considered a villa property, the Riviera is home to several room types with kitchenette, full kitchen, and large living space options. The room types are as follows:
Tower Studios: These house two guests, and are rather small in square footage. They do have a balcony, as well as a kitchenette. The kitchenette has a microwave, cutlery and dishes, as well as a coffee maker.
Deluxe Studio: You can choose between a preferred or standard view, and these house up to 5 guests. They all have a queen bed, queen pull-down bed, and a single pull-down bed. These also have a small kitchenette, with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The Deluxe Studios also feature a split bath.
1, 2, and 3-Bedroom Villas: With each of these set ups comes more sleeping space. One Bedroom Villas sleep up to 5 guests. Two Bedroom Villas sleep up to 9 guests, and the 3-Bedroom Grand Villas sleep up to 12 guests.
Each of these has a full kitchen with full size appliances, all the necessities, and a full washer/dryer. The 1-Bedroom Villas have a full bathroom, the 2-Bedroom have two full bathrooms, and the 3-Bedroom Villas have 3 full bathrooms.
Pools & Other Amenities
Disney’s Riviera Resort also offers guests several fun pool options. Young children can play in the S’il Vous Play splash area. Or, everyone in the family can enjoy the Mediterranean themed main pool, along with a water slide! If you need a quieter atmosphere, the Beau Soleil Pool is considered a “quiet” pool, and is a great place to relax!
Not only does the Riviera offer pools, it also has fun activities and a fitness center. Guests of the resort can take advantage of the Athletique Fitness Center, as well as several running and walking trails. For family fun, you can enjoy the life size chess and bocce ball court!
One unique aspect of Disney’s Riviera Resort is the art. Much of the art displayed inspired Walt Disney to create some of his most popular films. You can even ask at the front desk for a scavenger hunt, and make your way around the resort to find amazing pieces of art. Be sure to return to the front desk for a prize!
Transportation Options at the Riviera Resort
Guests at Disney’s Riviera Resort have two transportation options. First, the Disney Skyliner takes guests to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For guests visiting Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, they will access these parks via the Disney motorcoach system. Also, there is a walking path to Caribbean Beach for guests to access the dining options and the Skyliner station if they would like.
Overall, Disney’s Riviera Resort is a luxurious option for families who want resort close to the parks, with the amenities of home. This new resort can meet all your needs for location, nice rooms, updated amenities, and Disney fun for your whole family.
