The Disney Magic was the very first ship in the now 5-ship fleet of Disney Cruise Line. This original, “big red boat”, offers guests an incredible vacation opportunity aboard Disney Cruise Line. The Disney Magic is over 20 years old, but she is in stellar shape and updated after several dry docks. The smaller, more intimate atmosphere of the Disney Magic makes it an iconic and memorable ship for anyone who wants to sail with Disney.
On the Disney Magic, Captain Mickey graces the atrium as guests board this art deco-style ship. If you are embarking on the Disney Magic for the first time, there are a few things you won’t want to miss!
Dining Options on Disney Magic
The Disney Magic offers themed dining at the rotational dining locations. At Animator’s Palate, guests are treated to a visit from Mickey Mouse himself! Also, guests are offered the opportunity to learn how to draw while dining at Animator’s Palate, and their creations may appear on the screens around the restaurant!
Aboard the Disney Magic, guests will find Rapunzel’s Royal Table. This is a fabulous treat, when Rapunzel and Flynn Rider make an appearance during dinner! During this time, guests are invited to sing and dance as you celebrate Rapunzel’s return to the kingdom of Corona!
Special Sailings on Disney Magic
The Disney Magic hosts Marvel Day at Sea. On select 5 night sailings, your favorite Marvel characters join you onboard the Disney Magic. This includes special character interactions, evening menus, and entertainment while on board the Disney Magic. These sailings are perfect for every Marvel fan!
Water Slide Fun
The AquaDunk Water Slide is fun for everyone. This thrilling, high speed water ride has a three story drop and is definitely more of a “thrill ride” in comparison to the AquaDuck on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
The AquaDunk is geared toward those who are 48 inches or taller, and is a true water slide. Meaning, there is not a raft you ride down, it is all on the water slide itself. As you begin your ride, the countdown begins to the floor dropping out below you, and then you careen around the side of the ship as you make your way down to the lower decks. It is quite fun!
Clubs for Kids, Tweens and Teens
The kids’ clubs on the Disney Magic are a MUST for your children! One very unique experience to the Disney Magic is the Disney Jr. experience in the Oceaneer Lab. You will not find this on the other Disney Cruise Line ships! While not unique to the Magic, Mickey Mouse often makes an appearance to enjoy puzzle time as well!
The Disney Magic also offers Marvel Super Hero Academy, as well as EDGE and VIBE for tweens and teens. Regardless of age, your children will have an amazing time in their area of the Disney Magic.
Live Shows and Entertainment Experiences
The Disney Magic offers unique live shows and entertainment experiences. Aboard the Disney Magic, guests will be treated to three live Broadway caliber shows. Specifically, Disney Dreams, Tangled, and Cinderella Twice Charmed. These are truly unique to the Disney Magic, and are not to be missed.
Along with live shows, the Disney Magic also shows first run movies in the Buena Vista Theater at various times during your sailing. Guests can check the Navigator schedule to see which movies are playing on their sailing. If you’re sailing during the release day of a new Disney movie, you’ll be happy to know that it has a high probability of showing in the Buena Vista Theater too!
There is SO much to experience when sailing Disney Cruise Line and no matter which itinerary you are on, your family will be in for a “magic”al experience.
