Good Eats: Latte Art in Seattle

Post last updated January 26, 2016

I’ve had my fair share of lattes – more so now that I am a parent of two very energetic children.

Most days you will find me walking around town with one – it’s the only way I can keep up with those two and keep the migraines at bay.

When I travel, I make sure I know where the nearest coffee shop is too just so I can get my fix.

Of course in Seattle (land of coffee in the US!), there is no shortage of places to grab a latte.

During my last visit, I consumed too many cups to keep track of and almost all were topped with some kind of latte art. You know the fancy designs in the microfoam?

Almost too pretty to drink but for a sleep deprived mom, I can only stare at it for so long.

Latte Art Seattle Le Panier

Above is a latte that I had at Le Panier, a very busy and popular french bakery in the heart of Pike Place Market. The crowds are ridiculous after work hours! And weekends it’s even crazier.

I don’t remember what the cookie was – hazelnut almond something or other but the latte – so good after a day of exploring Olympic National Park.

Here’s one from Wandering Goose (sorry for the upside down shot) in Capitol Hill.

The homemade raspberry biscuit accompanying it – so darn delicious. If I could ship a case of those here, I would!

Word on the street is Wandering Goose’s fried chicken is the must have item here. Some diners were ordering it for breakfast! 10AM in the morning! I digress…

Where do you recommend going to see beautiful artwork in a coffee cup?

One of the places that I liked to go to in Penang, Malaysia would do dog or cat faces with their latte art. It was impressive. I was making coffee this morning and was just thinking that I should look up online how to do latte art — as if my mornings weren’t busy enough.

Ohh the more I hear about Pike Place Market, the more keen I am to check it out one day! As a coffee fiend myself, it definitely was one of these first things I made sure of when planning my current trip to Japan – coffee is always a must! 🙂

I don’t drink coffee, but those are so pretty. Those pastries look amazing too. I need to check these places out
