Expectant Mothers
Pregnant passengers at 36-38 weeks may fly with a doctor’s note written 24 hours prior to travel. Porter does not allow pregnant passengers to fly past 38 weeks.
Infant (under 2 years old)
Infants are not required to have their own seat however, you must inform Porter Airlines that you will be flying with an infant on your lap.
Infants must be between 7 days and less than 2 years old at the time of travel. An adult 16 years or older, can travel with only one infant, and must not be seated in an emergency exit row of the aircraft.
Only one lap child is allowed per adult. A seat will have to be purchased for each additional infant if you are flying with more than one infant.
A seat may be purchased for your infant as long as you have the proper child restraint device.
For domestic flights, infants can travel for free as long as the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
For international flights, infants are charged 10% of an adult fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
A ticket will have to be purchased for any flight on which the infant will be over 2 years old.
Baggage Allowance for Infants
Passengers travelling with infants/ small children (under the age of 2 years, without paid seats) are permitted to carry, free of charge, the following listed items.
Carry-on:
- One stroller (subject to standard carry-on weight and size restrictions.)
- One diaper bag
Checked:
- One car seat (subject to standard checked baggage weight and size restrictions)
Strollers and Child Restraint Devices
Strollers:
Strollers are allowed as carry-on (subject to standard carry-on weight and size restrictions) in addition to a diaper bag for passengers travelling with infants or small children (without paid seats). These items are permitted to carry free of charge onto the aircraft.
Child Restraint Devices:
Child restraint devices must have the labels noted below, or you will not be allowed to use it during take-off, landing, and surface movements. This includes booster seats and other types of harnesses.
