Wordless Wednesday: Disney Resorts and Relaxation

Post last updated September 20, 2019

This week’s Disney Almost or Wordless Wednesday theme is resorts and relaxation.

Here are a few of my family’s favourite resorts and spots for some quiet time!

Grand FloridianWe’re always on the look out for a beach. The one at the Grand Floridian is very relaxing!

Port Orleans RiversideJust before dinner time at the Port Orleans Riverside boat dock

Port Orleans French QuarterPort Orleans French Quarter’s kiddie pool. Always quiet!

Castaway CayDisney’s private island in the Bahamas – Castaway Cay. You can read about our cruise here.

Thanks to Focused on the Magic for hosting Disney Wordless Wednesday.

About Cheryl - Kids On A Plane

Cheryl daydreams about exploring the world with her family often and will travel for good food, lattes and theme park rides that don't require her to go too high in the sky. She's afraid of heights!

I love staying at Port Orleans Riverside although both Grand Floridian and a Disney Cruise are both high on my Wish List-especially now that I’ve seen your great pictures!

POR was the very first Disney owned resort my husband and I stayed at and that was what got us addicted to staying on site. One day I will have to spend a night at the Grand Floridian. That shot was taken after we had a meal there ;). The Disney Cruise — amazing!

Staying at POFQ in November! I can’t wait! This got me excited all over again. 🙂

You will love it Patty. Actually POFQ is my favourite resort so far. We’ve stayed at POFQ, POR and Pop. POFQ is at the top because of it’s proximity to Downtown Disney and it’s a small and quiet resort. Doesn’t take too long to get to the food court, the bus, the boat or the pools!

I haven’t been to any of these! They all look sooo lovely and relaxing. I really want to manage to get to Disney before my daughter gets too old to be “into” it. Thanks for the resort tips! (p.s. I just love your blog design!)

I don’t know if I will be able to ever get “out” of the Disney phase and I’m an adult ;). Thank you Julie! I love my blog design too although most of the credit has to go to my designer.

Great pictures. I love just finding a quiet little nook to soak up WDW. That hammock at GF looks really nice right about now…

I would stay in the hammock all day if I could. Unfortunately it’s Disney and there is apparently stuff to see and do 😉

Castaway Cay blew me away. I totally did not expect it to be so built up like that. It was a lovely day and wish we had more time to play at CC

I wasn’t a guest at Grand Floridian but we did dine there one day and then afterwards we headed to the beach for some down time. 🙂 Hopefully one day we’ll be able to work the GF into the budget.

I used to live in Orlando and spent a lot of time at these hotels, but have only stayed in the Contemporary. There’s just something, as they say, magical about Disney. I’m looking forward to going back there one day and taking my kids and living it up.

Staying at an all inclusive resort, although usually more priced, it definitely more relaxing and stress free

The last time I was at Disney was in the late 80’s and I didn’t have children then, I travelled with my sister. I think it’s high time I went again, so much has changed since then.
